Most states fund public higher education at much lower levels than they did 5 or 10 years ago. Massachusetts cut state spending per student by 36.3%; only 7 states cut by more than that. But North Dakota? Up 38.2%!

Massachusetts has begun to turn things around, with a significant increase in funding last year, and the prospect of another one this year. But clearly we still have a very long way to go. Meanwhile, we hear Fargo is a pretty interesting place.
