A statewide campaign has begun to pass a progressive income tax in Massachusetts and raise over a billion dollars to support public education and other essential public services. PHENOM has a role to play in this important initiative.
This “fair share” tax proposal would amend the state Constitution to allow for a 4% higher tax rate on annual income over $1,000,000 – to generate about $1.3 billion in revenue dedicated to K-12, public higher education and public transit, roads and bridges.
PHENOM has long argued that the state needs additional revenue in order to fully fund our campuses and make college accessible and affordable to all. We maintain that this revenue must come from those who can afford to pay more. This is our opportunity!
