PHENOM is hiring for the positions of Executive Director and Organizing Director! If you hadn’t already heard, we both apologize for not having had the chance to tell you one-to-one. You will definitely hear more from both of us later as we transition out of our roles as full-time staff for PHENOM, and we will definitely be sticking around to consult and volunteer our experience to the PHENOM Board and the great staff that will bring our organization into this new moment.

The timeline we’ve set for this transition is ambitious—PHENOM would like to bring on the new staff members early this fall so we can help them learn about their roles but also allow them the freedom to develop new organizing and fundraising models to fit this pandemic moment.

You can find the Executive Director job posting here.

You can find the Organizing Director job posting here.

Applications for both positions must be submitted by August 14, 2020 for priority consideration. To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and names/contact information of 3 references to jobs@phenomonline.org. We will only accept applications electronically. Please contact PHENOM at 978-227-8473 with any questions. Ideal starting date is September 8, 2020.

PHENOM is an equal opportunity employer. All persons regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sex, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation are encouraged to apply. Women, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please read and share this full letter and job posting, reach out to your networks, and invite people to apply to lead and struggle alongside this organization, team, and community through the fights we face ahead.

We cannot wait to see the great things ahead in PHENOM’s future, and we extend our sincerest thanks to every PHENOM Board Member, organizer, volunteer, and part of our PHENOM family for making the past four years so meaningful for both of us.

In Solidarity,

Zac Bears, Executive Director
Sydney Little, Organizing Director
PHENOM (Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts)
