Last year’s Advocacy Day succeeded in winning the best higher education budget in a very very long time — including the first student fee freeze in memory.  Mass advocacy works!  PHENOM is proud to have played an important role in making this happen.

On March 5, we want to thank our legislators and remind them that last year was Step 1 of a 2-year plan to get to “50/50” – where the state pays at least 50% of the cost of education, with students and their families paying no more than 50%.

The Governor’s budget proposal, while decent, does not fund our campuses at the levels required to maintain the fee freeze and fund union contracts.  We need to convince our Representatives to do better.

Advocacy Day will include inspiring speakers, lobbying training, discussions with legislators, a chance to bond with like-minded folks, and a free lunch!
