2009 Annual Meeting Minutes

Approximately 42 members of PHENOM attended the Annual Meeting June 6, 2009 at Springfield Technical Community College.  Following a get-to-know-each-other icebreaker, members discussed what PHENOM did well this year, what could have been done better, and what we should do next year.

PHENOM Plans for FY 2010

In the business portion of the meeting:

 

1.         A proposal to amend the by-laws was presented by the Executive Committee.  The impact of the amendment was to rename the “Board” as the “Delegate Assembly”, and the “Executive Committee” as the “Board”.

A motion to accept the proposal was made by Micki Betton.  It was seconded by Coleleen Avedikian.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

2.         An election was held for 8 seats on the Board.  Nominations were solicited and accepted before the Annual Meeting.  Additional nominations were made on the floor.  The election was help in accordance with Article IV of the By-Laws.

 

The following candidates were elected to serve 7/1/09 – 6/30/10:

Louise Antony (faculty, UMass Amherst)

Micki Betton (undergraduate student, Springfield Technical Community College)

Quin Gonnell (graduate student, Salem State College)

Ken Haar (faculty, Westfield State College)

Amanda Jusino (undergraduate student, UMass Amherst)

Vanessa Lynch (undergraduate student, Mount Wachusett Community College)

Frank Olbris (staff, UMass Amherst)

Tim Sutton (graduate student, UMass Amherst)

 

 

 

The following candidates were not elected:

3.         A budget for next year was presented by Ken Haar, Treasurer.

A motion to accept the budget was made by Naka Ishii.  It was seconded by Micki Betton.  The motion passed unanimously.
